Relief for Haiti
Mission Universal Church of Jerusalem Disaster Relief is a Christian love in action. This ministry meets the urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis. Christ calls for believers to demonstrate their love to those who are affected by natural or man made disasters through our timely use of resources, talents and time.
Our mission is to provide the most basic relief to the survivors: food, water, clothing, repairs, possibly rebuilding and more to help them restart their life.
We need significant resources to provide proper training to our volunteers who are standing for a moment’s notice, like a good soldier, to help the hurting, the needy, and bring hope during a catastrophe. As volunteers answered to the call, their faith and commitments to a great cause are used by the Holy Spirit to draw others to Christ. When we care for others we become not just the people who talk of missions, but people who put our words in action. We won’t just talk the talk, we are committed to walk the walk.
Our world continues to experience devastation and destruction from Mother Nature and other. Every incident is unique. Every incident brings new challenges and is handle differently depends on the needs at hand, as well as offering new opportunities. Let’s find out together how you and your church can help in representing Christ in crisis.
If you can travel with us, your presence will lend a lot of weight to our cause.

Hurricane Matthew struck a blow to agriculture, 1.4 million people are in need of food assistance
Mission Universelle Church of Jerusalem(MUCOJ) with little time to lose to secure a winter harvest in Hurricane-struck Haiti, will begin emergency distributions of seeds and tools to help disaster-affected families produce food and restore livelihoods lost in the country’s biggest humanitarian crisis since the 2010 earthquake.
Family farming −a primary food source for most Haitians− took an especially heavy blow in the hurricane that wiped out 90 percent of the country’s harvest.
The latest food security assessment conducted just after the hurricane showed that some 1.4 million people are in need of food assistance. Out of this number, more than 800 000 people are in urgent need of food aid and some 600 000 base their livelihood exclusively on agriculture.
In the heaviest-hit areas − including Grand’Anse, parts of Nippes, and Sud departments − over 75 percent of the population is struggling with the effects of the hurricane, as livelihoods based on agriculture, livestock and fisheries were almost completely destroyed.
Hurricane Matthew not only eliminated the last harvest – it also compromised the upcoming planting season and the country’s ability to feed itself. That’s why it’s so important we act now. These communities need urgent support to prevent them from adapting survival strategies that put them into a vicious cycle of dependence, including eating seeds meant for producing food in future harvests.
